The annual dinner of the Consular Corps was held on Friday, 9th of December in the famous Regent Theater, with the dinner set up directly on the stage!

It was a lovely end of a busy Consular Calendar year, ponctuated by fine food, nice speeches and a stunning performance of Australian singer Amanda Harrison.

The Hon. Linda Dessau gave a moving address on the demandes placed on the diplomats and their families in these very time-consuming roles. 

The Hon. Gavin Jennings, representing the Hon. Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria, mentioned the great impetus that the Consular Corps gives to the trade between Victoria and the rest of the world.

After the thank you remarks made on behalf of the Consular Corps by The Dean, Dr Hamed Al Alawi, Consul General of Oman, The Hon.  Bruce Atkinson, President of the Legislative Council, concluded the remarks by emphasizing the strong support offered by the Corps to each of its members.
