On 6 June the celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of the D Day landing were held at the Shrine of Remembrance. The Normandy Veterans Association had organised a very moving ceremony, with various wreath laying and speeches to the numerous retired Australian soldiers who participated to the liberation of France. The Battle of  Normandy lasted until 19 August 1944 and killed over 80 000 men. We shall never forget them.
