On Sunday, May 3rd, 2015, Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie launched The Red and The Black and Other French Plays — a compilation of French literature translated and adapted for the stage by the late Colin Duckworth. With his dream to inspire theatre enthusiasts to engage with French literature, Mr. Duckworth was instrumental in bringing French literature to the stage. The Stork Theatre established in1983, brings to Melbourne audiences great French authors such as Camus, Duras, Stendhal, Flaubert, etc.

The book features translations of The Red and the Black by Stendhal, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert, In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust and The Lover by Marguerite Duras. Colin Duckworth accomplished a tour de force, condensing these master pieces into short plays while keeping the essence of them.
