On July 26, the Consular Corps of Melbourne gathered together to celebrate the Egyptian National Day. Amongst the guests were VIPs and a large number of the local Egyptian community. In his address, the Consul General, Mr. Khaled Rizk, talked about the history of the Arab Republic of Egypt before mentioning the current affairs and in particular the efforts made by Egypt for the protection of the environment.

After the formalities were over, a Tannoura, a captivating secular Sufi spinning dance, was performed to conclude the festive evening.
