On Tuesday, April 23. a reception for ANZAC Day was held by the Victorian section of the Returned Services League [RSL] at ANZAC House. The speakers included RSL Victoria State President, Dr Robert Webster OAM, Federal Minister for Veterans Affairs, The Hon. Darren Chester MP and Victorian State Minister for Veterans Affairs, The Hon. Robin Scott.
Each of the speakers highlighted the ANZAC’s sacrifice for freedom in their service to Australia and how the ANZAC tradition has carried on throughout Australia’s military history up to the present day. The Federal and State Ministers for Veterans Affairs also spoke of their policy portfolio as characterised by formidable bipartisan cooperation.
The event was attended by personalities from the Australian Armed Forces and retired servicemen and women, members of the consular corps and Victorian politicians.
