Spain celebrated its “Fiesta Nacional” (national day) in style on 12 October 2016 at the Spanish Club in Fitzroy.

In Spain, la Fiesta Nacional is celebrated by a public holiday and is marked with raising of Spain’s National Flag in Madrid by the King of Spain. The flag raising ceremony is followed by a military parade and an air show.

In Melbourne, the Consulate General of Spain hosted a reception in celebration of this important day in the Spanish calendar.

It was a wonderful night of delicious food, lively music and captivating speeches.
