The Consular Corps of Melbourne invited by the Department of Multicultural Affairs

On Thursday 14 September, the Multicultural Affairs division of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) organized a meeting for the Consular Corps in Melbourne, which was hosted by The Honorable Colin Brooks MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs.

The event was an opportunity for the Victorian Government and members of the Consular Corps to discuss shared priorities and strengthen diplomatic ties. After a few words by the Dean of the Consular Corps of Melbourne, Mr.Ziad Itani who inisted on the importance of the international students in the Victorian landscape, the audience heard from both the Victorian Premier,  the Hon. Daniel Andrews, and the Treasurer the Hon.Tim Pallas on the significance of the international collaborations and trade, and the value added by the various multicultural communities in Victoria.

The Honorary Consul General of France Ms. Myriam Boisboivier-Wylie joined this event with the two French Consulate interns, Claire Lewis and Emma Rimonteil. It was an opportunity for them to experience some diplomatic networking! 🙂
