The Parliament of Victoria observes a minute of silence for the victims of the Paris attacks

On 24 November at noon, following the very moving speech by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Victorian Parliament, the Hon. Telmo Languiller MP, all the Victorian Members of Parliament under the leadership of the Premier, the Hon. Daniel Andrews, stood for a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Paris attacks of November 13th, 2015.

The Hon Telmo Languiller mentioned how the the French-Australian friendship was an old and important one, as demonstrated by the recent visit to Victoria of four French senators from the Australia-France friendship group; that the attacks against the democratic values shared by our two countries were inexcusable and that the people and Parliament of Victoria stood together with the French people as illustrated by  the lighting of Parliament with the colours of the French flag during the three day national mourning period.

This was yet another intense moment of French-Victorian solidarity
