Don’t miss the very first ‘Innovation Rendez-Vous’ on Thursday 4 August! This is an initiative of the French Embassy in Australia aimed at reaching the general public of the Alliance française network. This exciting series of conferences promotes a new generation of French or Francophone academic, undertaking scientific research in Australia, and whose desire is to share his or her specialist subject with a wider audience.

For the first set of encounters in Melbourne, the Alliance Francaise has invited one of the leading international specialists on research against malaria to give an understanding of the current global situation – in particular with regard to new emerging viruses such as Zika. Prof. Christian Doerig was previously Head of the Department of Microbiology at Monash University, where he continues to conduct his research on the kinomics of malaria parasites.
