French Consular Services in Melbourne, Not Interrupted… But Strictly Reduced!

Even with the level 3 isolation measures in the State of Victoria, the French consular services are deemed essential and continue… on line and on the phone {*} of course, but also in person to take your biometric data for a passport or a national identity card.

To fit with Victorian regulations and to reduce unnecessary travel, ONLY URGENT SITUATIONS will be serviced with a passport of CNI appointment. You will need to provide us with a clear justification [dated and signed] of the emergency (Humanitarian / Hospitalisation / death of a family member / return to your main residence).

You will need to request your appointment online, and the appointment will be confirmed on a case by case basis.

⚠️ If you have received confirmation of an appoitnemtn, please do not come to the Consulate if you are unwell or if you have been in contact with a traveller from overseas  in the last 14 days.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please cancel your appointment online so that your spot becomes available for another person. If you are not able to do so online, please let us know by email at consul.melbourne@ambafrance-au.org

{*} Please note that our phone lines are now only manded by the sole Consular Attaché, Geoffroy Caro, who will not be able to take you call if he is on the other line or in the process of establishing a passport. So please be patient!

Thank you for your cooperation.
