A small French village comes to Australia’s rescue

In the courtyard of the Victoria School in Villers-Bretonneux, we can read ”Do not forget Australia”.

This small French village located in the Somme shares the emotion and the grief of the Australian people who have seen parts of their country destroyed by bushfires for more than four months.

Spontaneous solidarity movements energed and a fundraising campaign was quick to be successful.

Merci to the people of Villers-Bretonneux, the friendship that started with shared blood in the First World War continues…
