‘Summer Nights’ By Berlioz Will Warm Up The Winter On 27 June At The Melbourne Recital Centre

Are you tired of the winter’s grayness? The Melbourne Recital Centre and Songmakers Australia suggests to warm you up by listening to the French romantic composer Berlioz’s masterpiece, Summer Nights, at the Melbourne Recital Centre, on Wednesday 27 June at 6pm.

Performed by four singers as the composer originally intended, it will be complemented by solos, duos and quartets by Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Chausson and Massenet.

Merlyn Quaife, soprano, Christina Wilson, mezzo, Andrew Goodwin, tenor, Nicolas Dinopoulos, bass-baritone, et Andrea Katz, piano, will highlight the beauty of Berlioz’s work.

This song cycle set of six poems by Théophile Gautier won’t miss to bring a little bit of poesy to the night of every French classical music lover !
