On Monday 4th of March, the event “Med Tech in Focus”, organized by French Tech Australia in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Canberra, the CNRS office in Oceania, and AFRAN and sponsored by Pearce IP, Servier, CCRM Australia, took place at the Melbourne Connect Centre.
Teachers, PhD, company representatives and entrepreneurs gathered in one of the Centre’s forum room to talk about the opportunities and the challenges of the MedTech sector in Australia and internationally.
Dr. Amanda Caples, Victoria’s Lead Scientist, introduced the event.
The event was facilitated by Andrew ”Andy”McLean, managing partner of the new investment fund Tin Alley Ventures, which helps start-ups to reach their full potential and create impact at scale. Andy’s former work experience as a board member in around ten biotech and medtech organizations in England (PepGen, Evox Therapeutics Ltd, MiroBio Ltd, Scenic Biotech, etc.) was an asset to the evening.
This event provided an opportunity for new startups to connect and engage in discussions about potential common perspectives with French and Australian companies. They also had the chance to present their ambitions and projects in front of an audience of a hundred people.
