Julie, François and Benoit, a group of young French entrepreneurs have created Yuka, an interesting mobile app for consumers. In a single scan, the app deciphers product labels and analyses the health impact of food products and cosmetics. When a product has a negative impact, Yuka recommends similar products that are healthier. No brands influence the analysis and recommendations offered, and brands cannot pay Yuka to advertise on the app.
Apparently, there are already 19.8 million users globally, and after high demand, Yuka has recently launched in Australia!
