How to apply for or renew your French passport !

You are thinking of going on holidays soon? Don’t forget to check the expiry date of your passport (it must be valid for at least six months after the date of your return).

Please book an appointment here. You will need to have all your documents ready when you come for your appointment.

The list of required documents and other general information about the procedure to apply for a French passport can be found on the website of the General Consulate of France in Sydney here (in French). Please email us at consul.melbourne@ambafrance-au.org if you need further information.

Please make sure that your photography is to the OACI standards, ie, with a slightly coloured background, not white as in an Australian passport.

For minors or special cases, please click here.

Please note that the time to issue a passport after you have been finger printed in Melbourne is around 6 to 8 weks.
