The latest developments in the teaching of French abroad

In October 2019, Jean-Yves Le Drian Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs and Jean-Michel Blanquer Minister for Education announced their development plan for French education abroad, following the goal formulated by the French president to double the number of students in French education schools for 2030. The plan will be coordinated by the Agence pour l’Enseignement du Français à l’Etranger (AEFE: Agency for the Teaching of French Abroad).

One major innovation concerns the new French baccalauréat! This new formulation will allow greater flexibility of choice for the students as well as a plurilingual education and emphasis on digital learning, especially with the development of the platform France Education (FRED).
